De Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk Mk22, G-BWTG (WB671 / 910) - c/n (msn): C1/0119.
In a brief article ('Vleugels', 2023 #3)) I read that G-BWTG is presently a temporary guest at 'Vliegend Museum Seppe' (Breda-Seppe) this summer.
This DHC-1 Chipmunk
was built in 1950 and delivered to the R.A.F. where it served with several Flying Schools, reg'd WB671.
In 1966 it was transferred to the Royal Navyand served until 1994.
Through Sotheby's it was sold and was reg's G-BWTG in '96. Shortly after it found a home in The Netherlands and since 2009 it is part of Robert de Man's Classic Wings at Teuge.
After this summer G-BWTG will return to Teuge. |

Fokker D.XXI (replica), PH-XXI (229). Licence-built by: Van Egmond, c/n (msn): 5502
Display Paint: Netherlands - Air Force (KLu).
"Jack van Egmond's Fokker D.21 - a terrific addition to the warbird scene.
Incredibly, it is powered by a factory-fresh Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial which the Dutch MoD still had in its crate somewhere. The original D.21 had a Bristol Mercury and never flew with the Cyclone.
Fokker did design a Cyclone installation however, which has helped the certification process for this gorgeous replica, and the look is much the same." ¬AirHistory.net |

Fokker D.XXI, 229. Very sorry I missed the flight, a shame it did not fly or started the engines
in the afternoon.

See the reference (under 'DXXI') the the Wright engine: 'Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial'.
