Scanned (colour) images from my archive

Early 2017 I bought myself a new flatbed scanner, an Epson Perfection V800 Photo and started scanning my B&W negatives, which I hadn't looked at for decades.
The scanning process will mean I will throw my negatives in the bin and keep the scans, both my aviation negatives as well as my travel negatives (colour and B&W). Can't be bothered with the hassle to make a modest pay out of it, don't want to hang on to them until my daying day.
It will take years as it is a slow process. I will do the same with my aviation slides.
Below are some of the results of my scanning, in the order of scanning, going downward - but also the ones I had done by a company, Mediafix, after I found scanning slides & negs too time consuming

B&W PAGE 1
COLOUR PAGE 1 + COLOUR PAGE 2 + COLOUR PAGE 3

In 2025 I had again a box of slides scanned byMediafix, my 3rd; almost 120 reproduced here.
To include them here I had to edit them somewhat (using Photoshop, Topaz, Efex Pro 2), but this seems for me my way forward in terms of required time for such a scanning project of slides in my collection.
It takes a lot of time to include the historical data on these airframes.

Please note that while some slides were made by me, quite a few were made by others and collected during exchanges with correspondents. Only very few were perhaps bought (if any of these).
All images have my copyright sign but the caption will include the name of the photographer/correspondent if known (as noted on the slide frame, most documented by me at the time or by the photographer who sent me these).

The De Havilland Canada DHC-4 Caribou (designated by the United States military as the CV-2 and later C-7 Caribou) is a Canadian specialized cargo aircraft with short takeoff and landing (STOL) capability.
The Caribou was first flown in 1958 and although mainly retired from military operations, is still in use in small numbers as a rugged bush airplane. ¬ Wikipedia

'The Douglas C-133 Cargomaster is an American large turboprop cargo aircraft built between 1956 and 1961 by the Douglas Aircraft Company for use with the United States Air Force. The C-133 was the USAF's only production turboprop-powered strategic airlifter, entering service shortly after the Lockheed C-130 Hercules, which is designated a tactical airlifter.
It provided airlift services in a wide range of applications, being replaced by the C-5 Galaxy in the early 1970s.

The C-133 was designed to meet the requirements for the USAF's Logistic Carrier Support System SS402L for a new strategic transport. The aircraft differed considerably from the C-74 Globemaster and C-124 Globemaster IIs that had preceded it.
A high-mounted wing, external blister fairings on each side for the landing gear, and rear-loading and side-loading doors ensured that access to, and the volume of, the large cargo compartment were not compromised by these structures.' ¬ Wikipedia

The Lockheed C-130 Hercules is an American four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft, designed and built by Lockheed (now Lockheed Martin).
Capable of using unprepared runways for takeoffs and landings, the C-130 was originally designed as a troop, medevac, and cargo transport aircraft.
The versatile airframe has found uses in other roles, including as a gunship (AC-130), for airborne assault, search and rescue, scientific research support, weather reconnaissance, aerial refueling, maritime patrol, and aerial firefighting...

It is now the main tactical airlifter for many military forces worldwide. More than 40 variants of the Hercules, including civilian versions marketed as the Lockheed L-100, operate in more than 60 nations.
The C-130 entered service with the U.S. in 1956, followed by Australia and many other nations. During its years of service, the Hercules has participated in numerous military, civilian and humanitarian aid operations.

In July '70, Southern Air Transport took over the aircraft. In Jan.'74, it was registered with Saturn Air as N23ST and moved two years later to Trans-International Airlines Inc keeping its registration N23ST.
[These airlines seem all connected with CIA operations -RL]
In Oct.'87, the Hercules was moved to Southern Air Transport as again N923SJ. That registration was cancelled in July '98 when it was sold to Transafrik International as S9-CAV.
Leased to the United Nations. In May'90 it became 5X-TUA with Transafrik.'

The Douglas DC-3 is a propeller-driven airliner manufactured by the Douglas Aircraft Company, which had a lasting effect on the airline industry in the 1930s to 1940s and World War II.
It was developed as a larger, improved 14-bed sleeper version of the Douglas DC-2.
Although the DC-3s originally built for civil service had the Wright R-1820 Cyclone, later civilian DC-3s used the Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp engine. It can operate from short runways.
The DC-3 had many exceptional qualities compared to previous aircraft. It was fast, had a good range, was more reliable, and carried passengers in greater comfort.
Before World War II, it pioneered many air travel routes. It was able to cross the continental United States from New York to Los Angeles in 18 hours, with only three stops. It is one of the first airliners that could profitably carry only passengers without relying on mail subsidies. [¬ Wikipedia]

The Curtiss C-46 Commando is a low-wing, twin-engine aircraft derived from the Curtiss CW-20 pressurized high-altitude airliner design.
Early press reports used the name 'Condor III', but the Commando name was in use by early 1942 in company publicity.
It was used primarily as a cargo aircraft during World War II, with fold-down seating for military transport and some use in delivering paratroops. Mainly deployed by the United States Army Air Forces, it also served the U.S. Navy/Marine Corps, which designated it R5C.
The C-46 filled similar roles as its Douglas-built counterpart, the C-47 Skytrain, with some 3.200 C-46s produced to approximately 10.200 C-47s.
After World War II, a few surplus C-46 aircraft were briefly used in their original role as passenger airliners but the glut of surplus C-47s dominated the marketplace and the C-46 was soon relegated to cargo duty.
The type continued in U.S. Air Force service in a secondary role until 1968.
The C-46 continues in operation as a rugged cargo transport for arctic and remote locations with its service life extended into the 21st century. [¬ Wikipedia]

>> 'Clipper Flying Cloud' has been beautifully restored by Boeing in 2001 and this very interesting piece of
aviation history is currently on display at the NASM Udvar-Hazy Center.

'Delivered to Pan American as NC19903 in 1940. Sold as ZS-BWV in 1948 then to the Haiti Air Force as 2003 in 1953. Sold as N9703R in 1959 then N19903 in 1962. To Inter-American in 1965. Sold and stored at Mesa-Falcon Field in 1969. Flown to Davis-Monthan AFB for the museum in 1973. Left in 1994 and flown to Boeing Field for restoration to its original Pan American markings as NC19903. Flew again in 2001. Ditched in Elliott Bay, WA while on a test/training flight in 2002. Recovered and restored to flying condition again and flown Washington-Dulles, VA in 2003 for preservation.' ¬ www.airhistory.net/marks-all/N19903

The Boeing Model 307 Stratoliner (or Strato-Clipper in Pan American service, or C-75 in USAAF service) is an American stressed-skin four-engine low-wing tailwheel monoplane airliner derived from the B-17 Flying Fortress bomber, which entered commercial service in July 1940.
It was the first airliner in revenue service with a pressurized cabin, which with supercharged engines, allowed it to cruise above the weather. As such it represented a major advance over contemporaries, with a cruising speed of 220 mph (350 km/h) at 20,000 ft (6,100 m) compared to the Douglas DC-3's 160 mph (260 km/h), at 8,000 ft (2,400 m) then in service.
When it entered commercial service it had a crew of five to six, including two pilots, a flight engineer, two flight attendants and an optional navigator, and had a capacity for 33 passengers, which later modifications increased,
first to 38, and eventually to 60. ¬ Wikipedia

The Douglas A-26 Invader (designated B-26 between 1948 and 1965) is an American twin-engined light bomber and ground attack aircraft.
Built by Douglas Aircraft Company during World War II, the Invader also saw service during several major Cold War conflicts. A limited number of highly modified United States Air Force aircraft served in Southeast Asia until 1969.
It was a fast aircraft capable of carrying a large bomb load. A range of guns could be fitted to produce a formidable ground-attack aircraft.
A redesignation of the type from A-26 to B-26 has led to confusion with the earlier and unrelated medium bomber Martin B-26 Marauder, which had already been withdrawn from service when the designation was reused. ¬ Wikipedia
